After the longest time….
Hellooooooooooo everyone!!
I am alive, sound and well!
It's been over 8 months since I left Switzerland and made my move to Jamaica.
My last days at home were filled with spending quality time with my besties and arranging everything for the move. The journey to get here was long and exhausting. After arrival I was sick for the first couple of days, guess my body was just tired after all those changes.
I spent my first two weeks in Jamaica up in the hills - my save place where I find peace of mind and can recharge my batteries. It was the best start for me as I needed to loose the speed from the fast world as Jamaica has a diffrent riddim and time - Island Time :-)
After two weeks in the Hills i made my way to my new workplace which I wasn't sure until the last moment if it's a scamjob or not.
Quickly turned out, it wasn't a scam. 30 min after my arrival at the Dive & Watersport Center I was already put in my "Mignon" Uniform (yellow top, blue SKORT - Shorts with skirt front) and got introduced in to my new job. Looking back, that was the last "fast" happening for a long time :-)
In the evening my Boss - fun fact he comes from the French part of Switzerland - brought me to my new home where I would spent my first six weeks living with other Employees in a shared apartment.
I couldn't believe where he brought me; the place is called "Sea Castles" and it's litteraly a castle right by the Sea. Until 2007 it used to be a fancy Hotel - ever since the closing it kinda got abonndend and forgotten but lately some of the apartments got renovated and by now I am living in my own apartment here.
Waking up everyday with beatuiful palmtree and carribean see view. I pinch myself like everyday because I always dreamed of living in a castle :-)
For the last 6 months I was working Wednesday to Monday from 8 am to 5.30 pm. On some days even until 9.30 pm. It was tough for me after being used to sleep-in every other day or having couple days in the week off but being on the beach everyday, the beautiful weather and that fact that I follow my dreams kept me going.
My Workplace is either the "Main Office" where I stand all day behind a bar - but instead of mixing drinks - selling Catamaran Excursions - Adults Only Booze Cruises - Parasail Flights - Bananaboat rides - Diving Courses and planing the schedules for the next days Or i am sitting in a "Beach Hut" (Bamboo house 4 meters away from the Water) and provide our Excursions and Activities like free Kayaks, SUP's, snorkeling equipment ant sailboat rides to Tourists from all over the world.
My Office Colleagues and the Diver's are from all over Europe, US,Cuba, Brazil and Australia. The Boat Captains, Mates and Beach Workers are Jamaican.
I get along with most of them :-)
Since two weeks I enjoy every 2nd week two days off and I also managed to change my day off to Sunday/Monday so at least Saturday night outs and Sundafunday is possible again :-)
On Friday I reached my first big mile stone here - after months of patiently waiting (not my strenght) I received my working permit. Even though i am here since over half a year, this was the moment i was waiting for - I can stay, it's not just a vision, it is reality!
....and i love my created reality!

It gives me so much strenght and power as these words come from people I respect and cherish. Thank you every single one of you for the impact you made in my life!
